2000-12 Amends Sign Code for Changeable Copy Signs in P-Public Dist.• ORDINANCE 12-2000
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SUB-SECTION (28) OF SECTION 6-113 (B), PROHIBITED
SIGNS, OF ARTICLE V., SIGNS AND OUTDOOR DISPLAYS, OF CHAPTER 6 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE TO ALLOW CHANGEABLE COPY SIGNS IN P-PUBLIC
DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Sub-Section (28) of Section 6-113 (B), Prohibited Signs, of Article V, Signs and Outdoor
Displays, of Chapter 6 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"Section 6-113. Prohibited Signs.
(B) Specifrcally. The following signs are expressly prohibited unless exempted by
section 6-112 of this Code or expressly authorized by section 6-114, or section 6-115
of this Code:
(28) Changeable copy sign as defined by this code.
Exceptions:
a. Signs for public, charitable and religious institutions.
b. Motor vehicle service station signs; provided, however, that
said signs are:
1. Limited to a maximum of twenty (20) percent of the
total sign area for said vehicle service station.
2. Changeable copy is limited to price of fuel and the
words "cash" and "credit".
3. The maximum height of changeable numbers shall be
twelve (12) inches.
c. Signs in P -Public District."

• Section 2. If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is for any
reason held by a Court to be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding shall not affect the
remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
