AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 6-17, CODES ADOPTED, OF
ARTICLE II, MINIMUM CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS, OF CHAPTER 6,
BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS, ADOPTING AND AMENDING
THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE, THE STANDARD GAS CODE, THE
STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE, AND THE STANDARD PLUMBING CODE
ADDITIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR THE
REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 6-17, Codes Adopted of Article II, Minimum Construction
Standards of Chapter 6, Buildings and Building Regulations, is hereby amended to read as follows:
• "Section 6-17. Codes Adopted.
The 1997 edition of the Standard Building Code, including Appendix F, the 1997
edition of the Standard Gas Code, the 1997 edition of the Standard Mechanical Code,
and the 1994 edition of the Standard Plumbing Code, the amendments to each code
as recommended by the Building Code Advisory Board of Palm Beach County as
amended by the Village of North Palm Beach are hereby adopted and incorporated
herein, as part of the minimum construction standards for the Village of North Palm
Beach, Florida. Department of Public Services shall be substituted for Building
Department in all the adopted codes."
i n If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this
Ordinance is for any reason held by a Court to be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding
shall not affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
i n 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed. '
• i 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
