AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VII,LAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 9-18, COMPOSITION; TERMS;
VACANCIES, OF ARTICLE II, ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD, OF CHAPTER 9,
COUNTRY CLUB, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE BY
CHANGING THE TERMS OF MEMBERS OF THE COUNTRY CLUB
ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR
THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section l Section 9-17, Composition; terms; vacancies, of Article II,
• Administrative Board, of Chapter 9, Country Club, of the Code of Ordinances of the Villages is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 9-17. Composition; terms; vacancies.
(a) Comyositror:. The board of trustees shall be appointed by the village
council and shall consist of seven (7) members who shall be residents of the village.
At least one (1) member ofthe board shall be a pool member of the country club, one
(1) member of the board shall be a tennis member of the country club and one (1)
member of the board shall be a golf member of the country club.
(b) Terms.
Upon the expiration of the terms of four (4) members of the board on September 30,
1998, the village council shall make appointments of four (4) members with terms
commencing October 1, 1998, and expiring April 30, 2000.
The terms of the three (3) members of the board whose expiration date is scheduled
to be September 30, 1999, are changed to provide for an expiration date of April 30,
1999.
• Thereafter, the village council shall make appointments to the board in April of each
year for two (2) year terms commencing May 1 thereaftera
• (c) I'acrnicres. An appointment to fill any vacancy shall be for the remainder
of the unexpired term of office."
Section 2 . If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this
ordinance is for any reason held by a Court to be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding
shall not affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
i 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
