A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF MSA SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS
(SCBA) EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE VILLAGE FIRE RESCUE
DEPARTMENT FROM TEN-8 FIRE EQUIPMENT, INC. PURSUANT TO
PRICING ESTABLISHED BY AN EXISTING FIRE EQUIPMENT AND
SUPPLIES CONTRACT WITH LAKE COUNTY; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE CLERK TO TRANSFER
$177,492.00 FROM THE CAPITAL RESERVE ACCOUNT TO THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT ACCOUNT TO FUND
THE PURCHASE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village Fire Rescue Department is requesting the purchase of Self-Contained
Breathing Apparatus ("SCBA") equipment utilizing Capital Improvement Plan funds; and
WHEREAS, Village Administration is recommending the purchase of MSA SCBA equipment
from Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. by piggybacking an existing contract between Ten-8 Fire
Equipment, Inc. and Lake County(Contract No. 12-08060); and
WHEREAS, as required by the Village's Purchasing Policy, the Fire Department has obtained
quotes from secondary qualified vendors to verify the fair market value of the equipment; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council seeks to amend the current capital projects fund budget to
transfer $177,492.00 from the Capital Reserve Account to the Fire Department Machinery and •
Equipment Account to fund the purchase of the equipment; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best
interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves the purchase of Self-Contained Breathing
Apparatus equipment from Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. pursuant to Lake County Contract No.
12-08060 (Fire Equipment and Supplies). The total amount expended for such equipment shall
not exceed $177,491.23, with funds being expended from Account No. K5812-66000 (Fire —
Machinery and Equipment).
Section 3. In order to fund this expenditure, the Village Council hereby approves a budget
amendment for the transfer of funds as indicated below:

Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
