ROLL CALL
Mayor Pierman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. All members
of Council were present. All members of staff were present.
COUNTRY CLUB MANAGER
~ Discussion was held concerning the hiring of a Country Club Manager
by the Village Council. The consensus of Council was to interview
five applicants at a Special Meeting, based upon a shortlist of
five names recommended by the Country Club Administrative Board, as
was done when the Tennis Professional was hired. The Council would
also like to have a backup list of five more names to interview if
the first five applicants are no longer available at interview
time.
The Council agreed that the Country Club Manager should enter into
an employment agreement or contract with the Village Council, with
the Village Manager being included into the loop.
To clarify the conflicts created between a contract with the
Council and the authority of the Country Club Administrative Board
as granted through the enabling ordinance, the Village Manager will
confer with the Village Attorney to determine the language of the
contract as well as a possible amendment to the ordinance creating
a Country Club Administrative Board to put the Village Manager back
into the loop and to more easily enable the Village Council to
retain overriding authority. Mr. Baldwin stated that the language
would depend on what the Council finally agrees upon as the job
duties of the Club Manager. The job description for the Country
Club Manager, as submitted by the Country Club Administrative
,_.,, Board, must also be clarified. The Council agreed that the last
two paragraphs of the Club Manager job description as presented by
the Board should be reworked. Mr. Kelly was to inform the Board
regarding this matter.
