t AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
THE VILLAGE CODE, SECTION 45-2, DEFINITIONS, OF ARTICLE I OF
APPENDIX C, ZONING, TO PROVIDE A DEFINITION FOR LAMP POST AND
DECORATIVE POST STRUCTURE; AMENDING SECTION 45-27, R-1 SINGLE
FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT, OF ARTICLE III OF APPENDIX C, ZONING, TO
PROVIDE PERMITTED USES OF LAMP POST AND DECORATIVF, POST STRUCTURE;
PROVIDING FOR CAPTIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE VILLAGE CODE; AND,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
S~~~on 1. The Village of North Palm Beach Code is hereby
amended by adding the following definitions to Section 45-2:
LAMP POST is a free standing structure that is not more than four
(4) inches in width and depth and/or diameter and not more that
eighty four (84) inches in height. The installation of a lamp post
shall comply with all village building, electrical and zoning
codes. A lamp post may be installed within the main building
setback area.
' DECORATIVE POST STRUCTURE is the 6upport base for a light fixture

5. Not more than two (2) decorative post structures per driveway
• entrance and not more than four (4) decorative post structures
per lot.
6. Not more than thirty (30) inches in width and depth and/or
diameter.
and shall comply with the following requirements:
1. The installation of a decorative post structure shall comply
with all village building, electrical and zoning codes.
2. Free standing.
3. Conform with the architectural design of the main building
veneer.
7. Not less than eighteen (18) inches setback from any lot line.
8. Not more than thirty six (36) inches in height without a
fixture. Exception: Not more than seventy two (72) inches in
height without a fixture when setback a minimum of thirty five
(35) feet from any side lot line or rear lot line on corner
lots and not less than thirty six (36) inches from any public
right of way.
$cc~~n 2. The Village of North Palm Beach Code i.s hereby
amended by adding the following permitted uses to Section 45-27, A:
' 8. Lamp post
9. Decorative post structure
Section 3. CAPTIONS.
The captions, section headings and section designation used in
this ordinance are intended for the convenience of users only and
shall have no effect on the interpretation of the provisions of
this ordinance.
Section 4. SEVERABILITY.
If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of
this ordinance is for any reason held by a Court to be
unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding shall not
affect the remainder of this ordinance.
Section 5. CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
' Section 6. INCLUSION IN THE CODE.
The provisions of the Ordinance shall become and be made a
part of the Village Code of the Village of North Palm Beach,
Florida. The sections of this ordinance may be retitled,
renumbered or relettered to accomplish such and the word
"Ordinance" may be changed to "Section", "Article" or any other
appropriate word.
Section 7. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
