1994-21 Additional Assessment for Violations1 ORDINANCE NO. 21-94 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 1-9 OF CHAPTER 1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES ESTABLISHING AN ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT FOR VIOLATION OF MUNICIPAL ORDINANCES AND VIOLATION OF A STATE PENAL OR CRIMINAL STATUTE WITHIN THF. INCORPORATED LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH AND BOND ESTREATURE AND FORFEITED BAIL BOND RELATED THERETO TO BF. USEb FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE EDUCATION DEGREE PROGRAMS AND TRAINING COURSES, INCLUDING BASIC RECRUIT TRAINING; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. Ser.tion 1-9 of Chapter 1 of the Code of Ordinances of the Vi]lage is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 1-9. Assessment of additional court costs for. Criminal Justice Education Expenditures. (a) The County Court. shall assess the additional sum of. TWO ($2.00) DOLLARS pursuant to Florida Statute 943.25 (13) as a court cost. against every person convicted for violation of an Ordinance of the Village and violation of a state penal or criminal statute within the incorporated limits of the Village of North Palm Beach and bond estreature and forfeited bail bond related thereto. There shall not be an assessment as to an Ordinance relating to the parking of vehicles. (b) A]1 court costs assessed and collected pursuant to t.t,is Section shall be utilized for criminal justice education degree programs and ' training courses, including basic rer.ruit training, for law enforcement offi-cers and support. personnel, provided such education degree programs and training courses are ' approved by the Public Safety Director of the Village. Workshops, meetings, conferences, and conventions sha1.1 be individually approved by the Public Safety Director of the Village prior to attendance." Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
