111 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF CIGNA TO
PROVIDE HEALTH, DENTAL, LIFE, ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND
DISMEMBERMENT, AND LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE TO
VILLAGE EMPLOYEES AND AUTHORIZING CANCELLATION OF EXISTING
POLICIES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in an effort to control rising costs and address employee concerns regarding the Village's
current health and dental insurance provider, the Village requested that The Gehring Group issue a
request for proposals from various insurance companies; and
WHEREAS, Village Administration recommends the acceptance of the proposal submitted by CIGNA
to provide not only health and dental insurance benefits, but also to provide life, accidental death and
dismemberment and long term disability insurance policies to Village employees; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the acceptance of the proposal submitted by CIGNA
is in the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby accepts the proposal submitted by CIGNA to provide
health, dental, life, accidental death and dismemberment and long term disability insurance policies to
Village employees in accordance with the pricing, terms and conditions set forth in its response to the
solicitation issued by The Gehring Group. The Village Council further authorizes members of the
Village Administration to take all actions necessary to implement these insurance policies and to
cancel the policies currently in effect as of October 1, 2012.
Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extent of such conflict.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 9th DAY OF AUGUST, 2012.
