2012-45 EMS Transportation Fees RESOLUTION 2012-45
• A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, INCREASING THE FEES CHARGED FOR
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORT SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, as part of the budgetary process for the current fiscal year, the North Palm Beach Fire
Rescue Department reviewed the costs attributable to emergency medical services and compared
the fees charged by the Village to the fees charged by other providers; and
WHEREAS, while the costs of providing such services have risen dramatically, the Village's fees
have remained unchanged since 2010 and are less than the average fees charged by other emergency
medical service providers in the area; and
WHEREAS, based on the foregoing, the Department recommended increasing both the transport
fees and the per mileage fees and the Village Council accepts this recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best
interests of the residents and citizens of the Village of North Palm Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing "whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby amends the fee schedule for emergency medical services
provided by the Fire Rescue Department as follows:
Basic Life Support (BLS) $4900 530.00 per transport
Advanced Life Support Level One(ALS 1) $545.00 585.00 per transport
Advanced Life Support Level Two (ALS 2) $600.00 645.00 per transport
Mileage $8,0012.00 per mile
Section 3. All resolutions or parts of the resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
