AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, Fi,ORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 9-17 AND SECTION 9-19 OF ARTICLE. 7I,
ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD, OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE VILLAGE AMENDING THE TERMS OF EXISTING MEMBERS OF THE BOARD;
PROVIDING THAT ONE (1) MEMBER OF THE BOARD APPOINTED OCTOBER 1,
]993, SHALL BE EITHER A POOL MEMBER OR A TENNIS MEMBER; PROVIDINC:

1993; PROVIDING THAT FROM AND AFTER OCTOBER 1, 1.995, AT LEAST ONF
(1.) MEMBER OF THE BOARD SHALL BE A POOL MEMBF,R OF THE COUNTRY CLUB,
ONE (1) MEMBER OF THE BOARD SHALL BE A TENNIS MEMBER OF THE COUNTRY
CLUB AND ONE (1) MEMBER OF THE BOARD SHALL BE A GOLF MEMBER OF THE
COUNTRY CLUB; CHANGING THF. TIME BOARD MEMBERS ARE APPOINTED BY THE
VILLAGE COUNCIL; AND ALTERING THE TIME OF ELECTION OF OFFICERS RY
THE COUNTRY CLUB ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF
ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 9-17 of Article II, Administrative Board,
of Chapter 9 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 9-17. Composition; terms; vacancies.
(a) Composition. The Board shall be appointed by t:he

Village Counr.i.l and shall consist of seven (7) members who shall he
residents of the Village. One (1) member of the Board appointed
October 1, 1.993, shall be either a pool member or a tennis member
of the Country Club. One (1) member of the Board appointed October
1, 1994, shall be either the pool member or tennis member not
appointed October 1, 1993. Commencing October 1, 1995, and

thereafter at least one (1) member of the Board shall he a pool
member of the Country Club, one (1) member of the Board shall be a
tennis member of the Country Club and one (1.) member of the Board
shall be a golf member of the Country Cltab.
(b) Terms. The initial appointments to the seven (7)
members board shall be as follows:
(1) Four (4) members shall he appointed for a tyro
(2) year term each.
(2) Three (3) members shall he appointed for a
three (3) year term each.
(3) Thereafter all appointments shall he made for
' a term of two (2) years each.
The terms of the three (3) members of the Board whose
expiration date is scheduled to he January 10, 1994, are changed to
provide for an expiration date of October 1, 1993. The terms of
the four (4) members of the Board whose expiration date is
scheduled to be January 10, 1995, are changed to provide for an
expiration date of. October 1, 1994. Hereafter, the Village Council
shall make appointments to the Board in September of each year with
terms to commence October 1 thereafter.
(c) Vacancies. An appointment to fill any vacancy shall
be for the remainder of the unexpired term of office."
Section 2. Section 9-19 of. Article II, Admini.st.rative Board,
of Chapter 9 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village is herehy
amended to read as follows:
' "Sec. 9-19. Officers' quorum; com ensation.

At the first organizational meeting of the Board, the
members shall elect. a chairman, vice chairman and secretary from
among its members. Subsequent to the initial organization meeting
where officers are elected, the members shall elect the officers
from among its members at the first regular meeting in October of
ear.h year. The presence of four (4) members shall constitute a
quorum and motions shall be approved by a majority of members
present. The members shall serve without. compensation,"
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in confliot
herewith are hereby repealed,
' Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage.
