' AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE, 1990 EDITION, AND THE
PALM BEACH COUNTYWIDE AMENDMENTS THERETO, AND THE MODEL
COUNTYWIDE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, DATED 10/17/90, 1988 EDITION,
FOR THE BUILDING, ELECTRIC, GAS, MECHANICAL AND PLUMBING
CODES; PROVIDING FOR REPEALS OF LAWS IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING
FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 166, Florida Statutes, empowers
municipalities to provide for the health, safety and general
welfare including the enactment and enforcement of
construction and related technical codes and regulations; and
' WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 74-565 and F.S. 553-73(a),
the Building Code~Advisory Board of Palm Beach County has
reviewed local conditions and based on this review has
recommended the adoption of this amendment, and
WHEREAS, the adoption of the referenced codes and
amendments will be in the public interest by strengthening
the Village Construction Codes, for the health, safety, and
welfare of the residents of the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, that:
SECTION 1 - AUTHORITY
This ordinance is promulgated in accordance with Chapter
' 166 F.S. and Chapter 74-565, Lawa of Florida, as amended.

SECTION 2 - CODES.ADOPTED
' The National Electric Code, 1990 Edition, and the Palm
Beach Countywide Amendments thereto, and The Model Countywide
Administrative Code, 1988 Edition, dated 10/17/90, for the
Building, Electric, Gas, Mechanical And Plumbing Codes; all
of which have been reviewed by the Building Code Advisory
Board of Palm Beach County, are hereby adopted and
incorporated herein, as part of the minimum construction
standards for the Village.
SECTION 3 -REPEAL OF LAWS IN CONFLICT
All other local laws and ordinances of the Village of
North Palm Beach, Florida, or parts thereof which conflict
with this or any part of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
' SECTION 4 -COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
The Amendments adopted by this Ordinance are in
compliance with the Village Comprehensive Plan.
SECTION 5 - CAPTIONS
The captions, section headings, and section designations
used in this Code are intended for convenience of users only
and shall have no effect on the interpretation of the
provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 6 - INCLUSION IN CODE
The provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be
made a part of the Code of Laws and Ordinances of the
Village of North Palm Beach. The sections of this Ordinance
' may be retitled, renumbered or relettered to accomplish such

"article" or any other appropriate words.

SECTION 7 - SEVERABILITY
If any section, paragraph, sentence clause, phrase, or
word of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be
unconstitutional, inoperative, or void, such holding shall
not affect the validity of the remainder of this Ordinance.
SECTION 8 - This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
