A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE SOLE SOURCE
PURCHASE OF A LIFTING AND DUMPING ACCESSORY FOR A REAR
LOADING PACKER TRUCK FROM QWIK-TIP INCORPORATED AND THE
INSTALLATION OF THE EQUIPMENT BY SOUTHERN SEWER
EQUIPMENT SALES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Village Administration is recommending the purchase of a lifting and dumping
accessory for a rear packer loading truck from Qwik-Tip Incorporated and installation of the
equipment by Southern Sewer Equipment Sales; and
WHEREAS, after making a reasonable effort to locate competitive suppliers, the Public Works
Director has identified Qwik-Tip as the sole vendor of equipment compatible with the
Department's packer loading truck; and
WHEREAS, Southern Sewer Equipment Sales is the nearest authorized dealer and repair shop
for New Way packer loading trucks; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the approval of this purchase, including
installation, is in the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing `whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby authorizes the sole source purchase of the Qwik-Tip II
Lifting and Dumping Accessory, with options, for the Village's rear packer loading truck at a
cost of$20,527.00, and the installation of the equipment by Southern Sewer Equipment Sales at
a cost of$4,930.00, for a total cost of$25,457.00. Funds for this purchase shall be expended
from Village Account No. A7020-66490 (Capital Machinery& Equipment— Sanitation).
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
