WHEREAS, C:ha.pter 156, Florida Statutes, empowers
municipalitie=_. to provide for the health, =_afety and general
":~elfa.re including the enactment and enforcement of
construction a.nd related technical codes and regulations, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 74-555, Laws of Florida, as
amended, Palm Beach County has adopted by Ordinance the
c~ta.r~dard Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Gas Codes, 1982
Edition; a.nd
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 74-565 and F.S, 553-73Ca),
the Building Code Advisory Board of Patm Beach County has
revie~.ied local condition=_ and ba=_ed en this review has
' recommended the adoption of these amendments, and
WHEREAS, the adoption of the countywide amendments will
be in the public interest by strengthening the Standard
Code=_, 1922 Edition, for the health, safety, and general
v:~elfa.re of residents in the Village of North Palm Beach,
Florida;

THE VILLAGE OF NORTH Pr=~LP9 BEACH, FLORIDA, that:
SECTION 1 - AUTHORITY
This ordinance is promulgated in accordance with Chapter
lc•5 F.S. a.nd Chapter 74-565, Laws of Florida, as art~ended,
SECTION 2 - CODES ADOPTED
' Thee Standard Building, Gas, Mechanical and Plumbing
C:rdes, IS'28 Edition, hereto attached, including Appendix. B,C,
E,F,I and F:' of the Starida.rd Building Code, the Countywide
Amendments, ar~d Appendix 3 of the Amendments to the Standard
Building Code, all of which have been reviewed by the
Building Code Advisory Board of Palm Beach County, are hereby
adopted and incorporated herein, as part of the minimum
core=_.truction standard=_. for the Village of North Palm Beach,
Florida.

SECTION 3 - REPEAL OF LAWS IN CONFLICT
All other local laws a.nd ordinances of the Village of
fJor#h. Palm 8ea.ch, Florida., or• part=_. thereof which canfiict
!~.~ith this or a.nT Part of this Grdinance are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4 - COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
The Codes and Amendments adapted by this Ordinance are
in camplia.nce with the lJillage Camprehensi~e Plan.

SECTION 6 - INCLUSION IN CODE
The prai~isions cif #his Ordinance shall become and be
made a. part of the Cade of Law=_. and Ordinances of the
','illa.ge of PJorth Palm Beach. The secticros of this Ordinance
ma.7' be re#itled, renumbered or relettered to accomplish =_.uch
and the Ward, "Ordinance" may be changed to "section",
"article" or a.ny other appropriate words.
SECTION 7 - SEVERABILITY
If ar,y section, para.yraph, sentence ciause, phrase, or
word of this Grdinance is for any reason held to be
unconstitutional, inaperati~e, or paid, such holding shall
not .~.ffec# +,he ~aliditi~ of the remainder of this Grdinance.
