AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, ARTICLE V, SIGNS AND OUTDOOR
DISPLAYS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
' BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 6-112, of the Code of Ordinances
for the Village of North Palm Beach is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following definitions and deleting all prior
inconsistent definitions:
"TEMPORARY SIGN." A sign which is intended
to advertise community events, civic
projects, political candidacy, political
issues, real estate for sale or lease or
other special events on a temporary basis.
Section 2. Section 6-113 of the Code of Ordinances
of the Village of North Palm Beach is hereby amended by adding
paragraph (c) as follows:
' (c) The following signs are exempt from the
requirement of obtaining a permit or paying
a fee, but they shall be subject to the
other provisions of this chapter.
(1) Temporary signs.
(2) Signs of religious, charitable, or
other nonprofit organizations
located on the premises of the
organizations.
Section 3. Section 6 of the Village Code is hereby
amended by adding thereto Section 6-138 to read as follows:
Notwithstanding any other provisions of this
Section 6 of the Code of Ordinance of the
Village of North Palm Beach, the following
signs are permitted in all districts:
(a) Not more than three temporary
political signs, each said sign not
exceeding five (5) square feet in background
area, and such other temporary signs not to
' exceed one, said sign not exceeding five (5)
square feet in background area, provided all
temporary signs shall be removed not more
than seven calendar days following the
respective event advertised by the temporary
sign.
(b) In all zoning districts of the
Village, traffic or other municipal signs,
legal notices, danger and emergency signs
are permitted.
Section 4. The following Sections of the Code of
Ordinance of the Village of North Palm Beach are hereby
deleted: Section 6-136(a)(4), Section 6-136(b)(4), Section
' 6-136(c)(4), Section 6-136(d)(6)(c), Section 6-136(e)(6)(c),
Section 6-136(f)(5)(d).
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon passage.
