A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE SOLE SOURCE
PURCHASE OF TWENTY-TWO TASER X-2 ELECTRONIC CONTROL
DEVICES FOR USE BY THE VILLAGE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Police Department is seeking to trade-in its outdated Taser devices and purchase
new Taser X-2 Electronic Control Devices for department-wide use; and
WHEREAS, Taser International is the sole source manufacturer of the Taser X-2 ECD, and the
Department seeks to purchase the devices from DGG Taser, Inc.,the authorized Taser distributor
for the State of Florida; and
WHEREAS,the purchase will be funded through the use of donation and forfeiture funds; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the approval of this sole source purchase is in
the best interests of the Village and its residents and that the use of law enforcement trust fund
monies for this purchase serves a proper law enforcement purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing "whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby authorizes the sole source purchase of twenty-two
(22) Taser X-2 Electronic Control Devices from DGG Taser Inc., including holsters, power
supplies, operational and training cartridges, and an extended warranty, at a total cost of
$28,001.88, after rebate, with$18,000.00 being expended from Village Account No. A5711-33160
(Police Donations Expense Account) and $10,001.88 being expended from Village Account No.
A5714-35289 (Law Enforcement Trust Fund—Weapons).
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
