Mayor Marks called the Budget Workshop session to order at 7:00
p.m. All members of the Council were present. The Village Manager
and the Finance Director were also present.
After a review of the proposed budget for the Village Council, the
following changes were made: Account 33210 - Accounting & Auditing
was reduced from $19,680 to $14,080; Account 34010 - Travel was
reduced from $2,435 to $854; Account 34811 - Employee Relations was
reduced from $800 to $500; Account 34992 - First Aid Squad was
reduced from $2,500 to 0; and Account 35430 - Conferences and
Seminars was reduced from $600 to $240. No health benefits were
budgeted or approved for Council members.
The village Clerk's proposed budget was changed as follows:
Account 33130 - Physical Exams was increased from 0 to $85; Account
66420 - Office Equipment was increased from $525 to $550.
After a review of the proposed budget for the Village Attorney,
Account name of Monthly Retainer was changed to Monthly Services;
Account 33113 - Labor Services was reduced from $5,000 to $3,000;
Account 34010 - Travel was reduced from $309 to 0; and Account
35430 - Conferences and Seminars was reduced from $125 to 0. Under
Planning and Community Development, Account 33190 - Other
Professional Services, was put on hold pending matrix cost
proposals. Account 34910 - Legal Advertising was reduced from $900
to 0.
Councilman Moore left the room during the budget review for the
Library. During that discussion, the following changes were made:
Account 11300 - Part-time pay (addition of new part-time Library
Assistant) was increased from $45,057 to $52,337; Account 35110 -
Office Supplies was increased from $3,400 to $3,600; Account 66610
- Books, Publications, Library Material was increased from $31,500
to $34,350; Account 66611 - Audio Book Collection was increased
from $1,000 to $1,500; Account 66612 - Video Cassette was increased
from $4,000 to $5,000; and Account 66613 - Compact Disk Collection
was reduced from $1,500 to 0.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
