ROLL CALL
Mayor Pierman called the meeting to order at 8:26 p.m. All members
of Council were present. All members of staff were present.
CONTRACT AMENDMENT - AMICI OF THE PALM BEACHES
Discussion concerning an amendment to the contract between the
,~ Village of North Palm Beach and Amici of the Palm Beaches, Inc. was
prefaced by a report from the Village Manager and the Finance
Director of their meeting with the auditor of the Department of
Business Regulation concerning the past due liquor surcharge fees
owed by the lessee of the North Palm Beach Country Club restaurant.
Mr. Kelly reported that the DBR will not consider a hearing to
waive or reduce penalties until after the delinquent taxes are
completely paid. The Council did not take any further action on
this item.
COMPLIANCE AUDIT OF FRANCHISE AND UTILITY TAX REVENUES
Discussion took place concerning a Performance Audit of franchise
and utility taxes, and a proposal by Management Advantage
Corporation to provide that audit. Mr. Dale Sugarman was present
on behalf of Management Advantage Corporation.
After a brief discussion of the proposal, staff was directed to
obtain information on other companies who offer such audits, with
the possibility of advertising for bids.
With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting
adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
