RILL CALL
Mayor Marks called the meeting to order at 8:45 p.m. All members
of Council were present except President Pro Tem Atwater, who was
absent due to a family emergency. All members of staff were
present.
RESOLUTION - ANNUAL VENDOR CONTRACTS
~, Discussion was held concerning a proposed resolution accepting the
annual vendor contracts for labor and materials as awarded by Palm
Beach County, the State of Florida, and the Palm Beach County
Cooperative Purchasing Council. This item will be placed on the
Regular Session agenda of October 14, 1993.
CABLE TV ACT
Discussion took placed concerning filing certification to the
Federal Communications Commission for regulating local cable TV
companies. Mr. Kelly reported that the deadline for certification
is November 15, 1993, and that cities in Palm Beach County are
planning to form a consortium through a Miami attorney, Mr.
Liebevitz, who specializes in Communications Law. Mr. Baldwin has
had preliminary discussion with Mr. Liebevitz, who has been in
contact with the City Managers' Association regarding
representation of a group of municipalities. Mr. Baldwin will
report back to the village Manager when more information comes
forth regarding the feasibility of forming a consortium, at which
time it will again be placed on the agenda.
