ROLL CALL
Mayor Marks called the meeting to order at 9:35 p.m. All members
of Council were present except Vice Mayor Vastola. All members of
staff were present.
BILL 729 - PROHIBITING PARKING IN ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY AT NORTH PALM
BEACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS
Discussion was held concerning Bill 729, a proposed ordinance
amending Chapter 18, Article III, Section 18-34.1 of the Village
Code by prohibiting parking on road right-of-way adjacent to the
North Palm Beach Elementary School during posted school hours, and
on certain other roadways within the Village of North Palm Beach.
Bill 729 will be placed on the Regular Session agenda of September
23, 1993 for first reading.
TENNIS PROFESSIONAL CONTRACT
Discussion was held concerning a proposed resolution authorizing
the Mayor and Village Clerk to execute an Agreement between the
Village of North Palm Beach and Frank "Buddy" Goeltz, Tennis
Professional. This was forwarded to the Regular Session agenda of
September 23, 1993.
POOL MANAGER CONTRACT
Discussion took place concerning a proposed resolution authorizing
the Mayor and Village Clerk to execute an Agreement between the
Village of North Palm Beach and Richard E. Cavanah, Pool Manager.
This resolution will be placed on the Regular Session agenda of

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993-94
Discussion was held concerning a proposed holiday schedule for
Village employees for Fiscal Year 1993-94. Determination will be

made at the next Regular Session regarding cancellation of the
November 11, 1993 Council meeting, since November 11th is a
national holiday (Veteran's Day). Council opinion was split 2-2
regarding Public Services' proposed schedule to work the holiday of
Christmas Eve Day and take their holiday on Monday, December 27,
1993. The proposed schedule was forwarded to the Regular Session
agenda of September 23, 1993.
BID AWARD FOR VILLAGE HALL SHUTTERS
Discussion was held concerning the bid of Bernardo Shutter
Corporation, Pompano Beach, FL in the amount of $14,356.00 from
A5509-66210 (Construction & Major Renovation) for the purchase and
installation of new shutters on the Village Hall. A resolution for
this bid award will be placed on the Regular Session agenda of
September 23, 1993.
BUDGET TRANSFER FOR LEGAL SERVICES ACCOUNTS
~ Discussion was held concerning a request to transfer funds from
A5540-49911 (Council Contingency) to A5105-33111 (Monthly Retainer)
and A5105-33112 (Special Legal Services) in the amounts of $7,000
and $2,000, respectively. This was forwarded to the Regular
Session agenda of September 23, 1993.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the
meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
