RE: BUDGET WORKSHOP MONDAY, JULY 19, 1993
This memorandum serves as the minutes of the budget workshop session of the Village Council of the
Village of North Palm Beach for Monday, July 19, 1993. Mayor V. A. Marks convened the meeting at
~- 7:00 p.m. All Council members were present; also present were Village Manager and Finance Director.
Based on consensus, the Village Council made the following changes:
COUNTRY CLUB
The Country Club discussed in detail the executive salaries of the Golf Course Maintenance
Superintendent, Bill Lanthier, and the Country Club Manager, Alan Sayer. the following was
agreed upon by consensus:
Golf Course Maintenance Superintendent:
^ $1,000.00 bonus - FY 92-93.
^ $1,000.00 -salary increase for completing Bachelor's Degree in Business
Administration to be effective July 19, 1993.
^ 3% salary increase - to be effective October 1, 1993.
Following the salary increase effective October 1, 1993, the Golf
Course Maintenance Superintendent's salary will be $44,408.00.
Country Club Manager - ,Alan Sayer. Mr. Sayer will receive salary increases per the
following schedule:
^ $1,500.00 salary increase -effective July 19, 1993.
^ 3% salary increase -effective October 1, 1993.
Following the October 1 salary increase, Mr. Sayer's annual salary will
be $45,320.00.

Following lengthy discussion the Council reached a consensus of establishing a tentative millage rate of
4.9 mills to generate necessary revenue for the FY 93-94 budget following the list of expenditure
reductions. In addition, there was consensus to transfer $250,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund
Balance.
Council agreed to meet the following Monday, July 26, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. in the Village Council conference
room. The Council also announced that at 8:45 p.m. they would adjourn and enter into Executive Session
to continue discussing negotiation strategy for collective bargaining purposes.
There being no additional business to come before the Council during this workshop, they stood adjourned
at approximately 9:45 p.m.
