ROLL CALL
Mayor Vastola called the meeting to order at 8:50 p.m. All members of Council were
present except President Pro Tem Larry Kelley, who was ill. Village Manager Dennis
Kelly was present.
PURPOSE OF THE MEETI
The purpose of the Special Workshop was to discuss the evaluation form for the Village
Manager's annual evaluation.
During discussion, the Council made revisions to the evaluation form by eliminating the
"cost effectiveness" in most categories, excepting Budget Administration, Fiscal
Administration, and Major Capital Projects. Additionally, the Council agreed that the
"Comments" section must be used for any rating of Average or Below Average.
Goals and Objectives were removed from the form, as was the last page concerning an
"overall" rating.
The Council forwarded the evaluation form to the Regular Session of August 28, 1997 for
official approval, and will schedule a Special Meeting thereafter to review each completed
evaluation with the Village Manager.
By consensus, the Council agreed that the Village Clerk also will be subject to an annual
evaluation by the Village Council.
