ROLL CALL
Mayor Vastola called the meeting to order at 10:40 p.m. All members of Council were
present except President Pro Tem Kelley, who was absent due to illness. All members
of staff were present.
COMMERCIAL UTILITY TRAILERS
Discussion was held concerning the Planning Commission's recommendation to disallow
commercial use trailers in R-1 and R-2 zoning districts. During discussion, consensus of
Council was to allow the commercial trailers in the R-1 and R-2 zoning districts if the
.`,, trailers are screened from view from all sides, limiting length and height of trailers, and
types. The staff was directed to draft a proposed ordinance for the Regular Session
agenda of October 9, 1997.
CONSULTANT AGREEMENT -DEPARTMENTAL REORGANIZATION
Discussion was held concerning request for proposals for Consultant services for
reorganization analysis of the Public Safety Department. No action was taken on this
item. Instead of a cost analysis, proposals will be requested for a study of the entire
Public Safety Department, its operation and structure, and the feasibility of separating the
Fire Department and Emergency Services from the Police Department. Anew scope of
services will be brought back to another workshop.

Having reached the 11:00 p.m. curfew, the meeting adjourned.
