05-13-1958 VC REG-M• MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH HELD AT THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY cLUB MAY 13, 1958 - ' Present: Richard E, Ross - Mayor Jay H. White - Vice-Mayor Charles A. Cunningham - Councilman John A. Schwer_cke - Councilman Albin R. Olson - Village Manager Absent: Herbert A. Ross - Councilman C, Robert Burns - Village Attorney ' Mayor Ross called the meeting to order and requested the Village Manager call the roll. Mayor Ross requested the Village Manager read the minutes o£ a regular meeting of the Village Council held on April 22, 1958. On motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Uice- • Mayor White, all members voting aye, the minutes were approved as read. Mayor Ross informed the Council he had no report to make at the time. The Village Manager reported no petitions or communications, On motion of Viee-Mayor White, seconded by Councilman Cunningham, all members voting aye, the following report of the Village Treasurer was approved: _ TREASURER'S REPORT CASH ON HAND, April 22, 1958 ~2,910.Lt8 ADD: Permits 89L.70 Occupational License 375.00 Taxes 7,039.00 Individual Registration 1,50 8,310.20 u,22o.68 DEDUCT: Disbursements April 22, 1958 - May 13, 1958 8,205.54 BALANCE, May 13, 1958 X3,015.14 No resolutions or ordinances were proposed or scheduled for reading, The Village Manager read and distributed to the Council the Statistical Data Report for the month of April,-1958. ' The matter of a proposal of the Palm Beach County Library Association requesting the County Commission consider establishing a county-wide library service was discussed. Mayor Ross appointed the follo.ing a committee to examine and study the proposal and report its recommendations to the Council: Mrs. J. Edwin Obert, Mrs. Edward Sharp, Mr, Thomas G. Hart, Jr ., and Mr, George Pilicy. The Village Manager discussed the need for recreational facilities within the village and presented a comprehensive program for the development of the land areas located to the rear of the Village Hall, to the north of the Elementary School, and adjacent the sewerage treatment plant. n ~J On motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Councilman Cunningham, alI members voting aye, the proposed recreation plan presented by the Village Manager was accepted in principle and referred for further study to determine the priority of needs and their construction costs. ' On motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Vice-Mayor White, all members voting aye, the attached list of accounts payable was approved.
