Mayor Ross called the meeting to order and requested the Village Manager call
• Mayor Ross requested the Village Manager read the minutes of a regular meeting
of the Village Council held on March ll, 1958. On motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded
by Vice-Mayor White, all members voting aye, the minutes were approved as read.
Mayor Ross informed the Council he had no report to make at this time.
On motion o£ Vice-Mayor White, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting
aye, the following report o£ the Village Treasurer was approved:

• On motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Vice-Mayor White, all members
voting aye, proposed Resolution #39 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
HEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE VILLAGE MANAGER AND
CLERK TO SIGN A CERTAIN PLAT
' was adopted.
On motion o£ Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Vice-*3ayor White, all members
voting aye, proposed Ordinance #30 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS
' was placed on first reading and read in full.
Following the reading of proposed Ordinance #30, Mayor Ross requested the Vil-
lage Manager point out to the members of the public present the land area proposed to be
annexed to the Village under the provisions o£ Ordinance #30.
. The Village Manager reported a discussion with the Southern Bell Telephone
Company concerning the matter of a franchise agreement with the Village,
A proposed franchise agreement submitted by the Southern Bell Telephone
Company was referred to the Village Attorney for study.
' The Village Manager requested the Council determine a policy regarding care
of the village parkway grass areas, specifically as to the matter of chemical spraying
the areas for cinch and other grass destroying insects.
Following a general discussion of the matter, the Council concluded each
homeowner should assume the responsibility of caring for the parkway area fronting his
home,

The Village Manager announced the installation of afire siren on the water
tower had been completed, and that the Fire Rating Bureau would be notified of this
installation and requested to review the fire insurance classification assigned the
Pillage and to assign a lower classification in order to effect lower fire insurance
premiums on property located within the Village,
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion of
Councilman Cunningham, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting aye, the meeting
was adjourned at 9:00 P.M. to meet April 8, 1958 at the North Palm Beach Country Club,
