Olson, Village Manager Absent: L, Stanley de Villers, Councilman ~-- -~ " The minutes of a ~dg`ular meeting held June 17, 1957, at 3;00 p.m.'and • a special meeting held on July 11, 1957, at 3:00 p.m., both held in the Village Hall Council Chamber, were approved on motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman White, all members voting aye. Mr. A, S, Dobbs, representing the Southern Bell Telephone Company, West Palm Beach, Florida, and Mr. R. D. Hill and P~Ir. B. V, Correll, representing the Florida Power and Light Company, LPest Palm Beach, Florida, appeared before the Council to register an objection to the tax assessed their respective utility companies as provided in Ordinance #13 (Occupational License Ordinance), The Council agreed to review the entire ordinance and the occupational license tax schedule assessed all categories of business included in the ordinance and to advise the objectors of their conclusions. On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman White, all members voting aye, the following report_of the Village Treasurer was approved: TREASURER'S REPORT July 22, 1957 Cash on hand, June 6, 1957 96 1,779.89 Add: Occupational Licenses ~ 2,078.00 Permits 704.32 Dog registrations 4.00 Registrations 17.25 N.P,B. Prop. Loan 2,000.00 4,803.57 6,583.46 • Deduct: Disbursements June S - July 17 5,021.95 Balance $ 1,561.51 ' On motion of Councilman White, seconded by Councilman Schweneke, all members voting aye, Resolution #26 (See Resolution Book #1, page ) entitled A RESOLUTION OF Tr?E VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING OFFER OF DEDICATIOid was adopted as read. On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman Schwencke, and carried, a proposed ordinance entitled lJ • AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, AN ELECTRIC FRANCHISE, AND IMPOSING PROVISIONS AND CONDITIONS RELATING THERETO - and which had begn passed on first reading on-the 14th day of September, 1956, was read in~full by the Village Clerk. Thereafter there was a full discussion of the provisions of said proposed ordinance. On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Mr. Schwencke, the proposed ordinance was thereupon, without amend- ment of any kind being made therein, passed and adopted on second reading in full by the following vote, AYES; Messrs. Ross, Schwencke, White, Cunningham. NOES; None, Said Ordinance was designated Ordinance No. 2 and was thereupon signed by the Mayor and the following Councilmenc Messrs. Ross, Schwencke, and White. The Village Clerk was directed to record said Ordinance No. 2 in the ' book kept for that purpose. On motion of Councilman L7hite, seconded by Councilman Schweneke, all members voting aye, a Resolution entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR • AND VILLAGE CLERK TO SIGId T'WO CONTRACTS WITH FLORIDA POWER AND LIGfil' COMPANY was adopted as read. Said resolution was designated Resolution No. 27 and was thereupon signed by the Mayor. The Village Clerk was directed to record said Resolution No. 27 in the book kept for that purpose. On motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Councilman White, all membera voting aye, a proposed Ordinance No. 18 entitled AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE /~5 OF SUCH VILLAGE COUNCIL AND AMENDING THE FRANCHISE HELD BY NORTH PALM BEACH UTILITIES, INC., WITH RESPECT ' TO ITS WATER SYSTEM AND SEWAGE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL SYS^1EM. was placed on first reading and read in full, On motion of Councilman White, seconded by Councilman Schweneke, all members voting aye, a proposed Ordinance No. 19 entitled AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALP4 BEACH, FLORIDA, ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS was placed on first reading and read in full. • The Village Attorney was requested to prepare an ordinance ratifying and confirming Ordinance No. 16 relating to the establishment of a bulkhead line within the Village for Council consideration. The Village Manager was instructed to write the District Engineer, Civil ' Aeronautics Administration, voicing an objection of the Uillage Council to the loca- tion of the proposed Palm Beach County jet airport. The planned east-west runway will direct air traffic to pass over the Village area. There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Councilman White, all members voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m. Village Clerk
