Cunningham, Mayor Richard E. Ross, Vice Mayor John A. Schwencke, Councilman Jay H. White, Councilman Wallis E. Schulle in place of C. Robert Burns, Village Attorney Robert C, Tufford, Village Clerk Albin R. Olson, Village Manager Absent: John A. MacArthur, Councilman The minutes of a regular meeting held May 27, 1957, at 3:00 p.m. in the Village Hall Council Chamber were approved on motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Councilman White, all members voting aye. On motion of Vice Mayor Ross, seconded by Councilman White, all members voting aye, the following report of the Village Treasurer was approved: VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH TREASURER'S REPORT June 6, 1957 Cash on hand (May 27, 1957) $2,722.91 Add: Occupational Licenses $116.25 Permit Fees 15.00 131.25 $2,854.16 Deduct: Disbursements (May 28-June 6) 1,074.27 Balance $1,779.88 On motion of Vice Mayor Ross, seconded by Councilman White, all members voting aye, proposed Ordinance #17 entitled AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR A CODE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR DRIVEWAYS, AND THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTIONS OF FEES THERE- FOR; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID CODE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES placed on first reading May 27, 1957, was amended in the following respect: Section 2, paragraph 2, the third sentence shall read as follows: "All driveways shall be a minimum of eight (8) feet wide at the sidewalk and shall flare uniformly to a width of fourteen (14) feet at the edge of the paving unless extenuating circumstances as determined by the Building Official suggest a variance of this flare width and in such instances the flare requirements shall be determined by the Building Official." Thereupon, it was moved by Councilman White, seconded by Uice Mayor Ross, all members voting aye, that Ordinance #17 entitled - AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR A CODE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR DRIVEWAYS, AND THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND THE COLLECTIONS OF FEES THEREFOP.; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID CODE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES as amended be placed on second reading and, as amended, read in full. Page • `J n L~ On motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Vice Mayor Ross, all members voting aye, Ordinance #I7 (See Ordinance Book #1, page 61) entitled AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, PPOVIDING FOR A CODE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR DRIVEWAYS, AND THE ISSANCE OF PERMITS AND THE COLLECTIONS OF FEES THEREFOR; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID CODE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES was enacted. On motion of Councilman White, seconded by Uice Mayor Ross, all members voting aye, Resolution #2I (See Resolution Book #1, page 21) entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE .OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING HEREBERT A. ROSS TO ACT AS A MEMBER OF SAID COUNCIL IN THE ABSENCE OF JOHN A. SCHGdENCKE was adopted. The Village Manager was instructed to arrange afire works display at the Country Club for residents of the village on July 4, at a cost not to exceed $100. On motion of Vice Mayor Ross, seconded by Councilman White, all - members voting aye, the following list of accounts payable was approved for payment: Brockway, Weber & Brockway $93.00 East Coast Fire Equipment 9,00 Colt Fire Arms Co. 52,95 Dolan General Tire Co. 84.68 W. S, Darley Co. 7.95 Riviera Beach Drugs 48.59 Secretary of State 10.75 N.
