ROSS JOHN A. SCHWENCKE CALL JAY H. WHITE CHARLES A CUNNINGHAM x ~ # ~ ~ ABSENTEES Mayor Cunningham reported that Councilman John A. I~ac Arthur is out of the state at the present time. ~ ~ # ~ # QUORUM It appeared a quorum was present, whereupon, by acclamation Mayor PRESENT Cunningham assumed the Chairmanship of the meeting and he asked ROBERT C. TUFFORD, VILLAGE CLERK, to take the minutes of the meeting. T # ;.~ ~ ~ n L~ MINUTES The Chairman asked the Village Clerk to read the minutes of the pre- vious meeting, which was done, and upon motion by Mayor Cunningham, seconded by Vice-P7ayor Ross, and upon Roll Call, all Councilmen present voted aye, and the minutes were adopted. ~t K ~; ~ ~ NEW BUSINESS ORD. #2 Ordinance #2 entitled: AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE FLORIDA POWER & FIRST LIGHT COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSCfftS AND ASSIGNS, AN READING ELECTRIC FRANCHISE, AND IMPOSING PROVISIONS AND CONDITIONS RELATING THERETO, was read in full by the Village Clerk and after thorough discussion by the Council, motion was made by Vice-Mayor Ross, seconded by Council- man White that Ordinance #2 Re: Franchise to Florida Power & Light be studied Further. Upon Roll Call, all Councilmen present voted aye, and the motion was adopted, ORD. #5 Ordinance #5, as ammended, was read in full by the Village Clerk, SECOND READING and Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Vice-Mayor Ross, moved that Orainance #5 (see ORD. BK. 1, page 1 O ) entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING AN EXCLUSIVE FRANCHISE TO NOR^1H PALM BEACH UTILITIES, ING., A FLORIDA CORPORATION, TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A WATER SYSTEM AND SEWAGE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL SYSTEM IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA SETTING FORTH CONDITIONS AND PRIUILEGES ACCCMPANY~: Ib?G THE GRANT OF FRANCHISE: PROVIDING FOR RATES AND CHARGES, AND FOR SERVICE STANDARDS: PROHIBITING THE USE OF INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS AND~OR SEPTIC TANKS WITHIN THE VILLAGE LII~SITS: PROVIDING FOR SEWER CONNECTIONS AND PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SUCH PROVISIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. be adopted. Upon Roll Call, alI Councilmen present voted aye, and Ordinance #5 was adopted. (CONTINUED} r RES. ~f6 Mayor Cunningha~, seconded by Vice-Mayor Ross, moved the adoption of Resolution #6 ( See RES. BFI. 1, page (u ) entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF "THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA," THAT MR. ALBERT G. DUDDEN BE APPOINTED CHIEF OF POLICE FOR '}THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA," EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1, 1956, AT AN ANNUAL SALARY OF X5200.00 Upon Roll Call, all Councilmen present voted aye, and Resolution #/6 was duly adopted, ~ is ~ ~ # i~ U Cougcilman White presented the Council with a letter from Bev Smith Ford, Inc. submitting a bid of X2,522.17 for a 1957 Ford, Country Sedan Station`Wagon, for the use of Police Chief Dudden in carrying out his duties and advised the Council to accept this bid, Upon Roll Ca11, all Councilmen present voted aye, and said bid was accepted. ~ ~- ~ # ~ Councilman White reported to the Council that he has been able to secure permission from the Riviera Beach Police Department for the use of their transmitting Facilities, to transmit Police and Fire embrgency calls at a monthly charge of ~25.C0. ~ x ~ m There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned to 3 o'clock P.M., Monday, November 12th, 1956, to meet at the North Palm Beach Country Clubhouse. / ~ G~ C• ~ Village Clerk • ii •
