OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
HELD TUESDAY, AUGUST 10, 1999

ROLL CALL
Mayor Eissey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All members of Council were present.
Village Manager Dennis Kelly was present.
SALARY SURVEY -HUMAN RESOURCE CONSULTANTS
Dr. Herb Marlowe and Mac McDowell of Human Resource Consultants was present to review
the salary survey with the Village Council.
During discussion, the Council agreed by consensus to eliminate compression for all part-time
employees who have been employed by the Village for over one year by adjusting the salaries by
2%. Additionally, it was agreed that part-time employees not affected by the pay for
performance plan would have their base salaries adjusted by 2 % after 5 years of employment,
and another 2% after 10 years of employment.
The Council directed that copies of the salary survey be given to all Department Heads, and that
their comments be brought back to Council prior to the second Council workshop meeting in
August.
New revised copies of the salary survey will be sent to Doug Smith for distribution to
Department Heads and Council.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Discussion took place concerning Goals and Objectives. Having previously determined 5 goals,
staff was directed to plug in the objectives, as submitted by each Councilperson.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
