AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILiAGE OF NORTH PAiM BEACH, FIARIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 17 OF THE VTT.TA(;F OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, LICENSES AND MISCIIxar~nUS
BUSINESS REGULATIONS, BY REGULATING GARAGE SATES OR OTHER SATES OF MERCHADIDISE

BE IT ORIYaINID BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALAi BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Chapter 17 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code is
hereby amended by adding new sections to be numbered Sections 17-50 through
17-52, which said sections shall read as follows:
"Section 17-50. Gar a Sales. All so-called 'garage sales'
or of r sa es invo vi~g e o Bring for sale of multiple items
of personal property on property occupied as a residence shall
be subject to the following rules and regulations:
(1) No one shall accept or take in for sale, any goods
fran any co~nnerciai business or enterprise on a consignment
basis.
(2) No signs shall be posted anywhere in the Village
advertising such sales, except that the property owner may
install on the residential lot on which such sale is to be
held one sign not larger than 2' x 3', advertising such sale.
' Such signs shall be erected not sooner than one (1) day prior
to the date of the sale, and shall be removed at the end of
the last day upon which the sale is held.
(3) No more than two such sales per annum shall be held
at the premises if occupied by the same family or any member
of such family.
(4) Any sale conducted pursuant to the provisions hereof
shall be confined to the period between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
of any day and shall not extend in excess of two (2) days.
"Section 17-51. Same - Perntit R uired. Any person conducting
a garage sa a or of r sa e invo vuzg t e offering for sale of
multiple items of personal property. on property occupied as a
residence shall be required to obtain a permit therefor from the
Village. Applications for such permit shall be made to the Village
Building Official in such form as may be required.
"Section 17-52. Violations. Any person violating any of the
provisions o is or finances 11 be deened guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined a sum not to exceed
five htmdred dollars ($500.00). Each day during which any violation
of this ordinance continues or exists shall be deemed to be a
' separate violation."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
