A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, WAIVING THE RESIDENCE REQUIREMENT FOR
THE VILLAGE MANAGER; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, as amended by Ordinance 2011-06, Section 2-115 of the Village Code provides that
the Village Manager shall retain Village residence during the period of his appointment unless
waived by an affirmative vote of the majority of the Village Council; and
WHEREAS, due to a change in the Village Manager's personal circumstances, the Village
Council wishes to waive the residence requirement for Village Manager Jimmy Knight; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best
interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. As authorized by Section 2-115 of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village
Council hereby waives the requirement that Village Manager Jimmy Knight maintain a residence
within the Village during the term of his appointment as Village Manager. A majority of the
Village Council may revoke this waiver at any time for any or no reason and if revoked, the
Village Manager shall be required to attain Village residence within sixty (60) days or as
otherwise determined by a majority of the Village Council.
Section 3. All resolutions and contractual provisions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict, including, but not limited to, Section 9 of the Village Manager's
Employment Agreement.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
