AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENllING CHAPTER 12 OF T}{E VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEAC}{ CODE, IT
BEING THE ELECTION CODE OF THE VILLAGE,, BY EXTENDING THE DEADLINI:
FOR THE QUALIFYING OF CANDIDATES IN ANY ELECTION TO BE HELD IN T}{{;
' VILLAGE. IN T}{F. EVENT ALL PERSONS WHO HAVE QUALIFIED FOR AN OFFICE TO
BF, FILLED AT AN ELECTION WITHDRAW FROM CANDIDACY FOR ANY RF,ASON.
BF, IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEAC}{,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 12-29 of the Village of North Palm
Beach Code be, and the same is hereby, amended by adding thereto
a new subsection, to be numbered Subsection (3), which said stib-
section shall read as follows:
"(3) If at any time within seventy-two (72)
hours prior to the deadline for the qualifying
of candidates as set forth in Subsections (1)
and (2) above, all persons who have qualified
for any one office in an election have had
their names withdrawn from candidacy for any
reason, then the deadline for qualification of
candidates for that particular office shall be
automatically extended by one (1) week. The
village clerk shall cause to be published at the
earliest possible date, in a newspaper of
general circulation in the village, a notice
of such extension of time for qualifying for
said office. In addition, such notice shall be
given by posting a copy thereof in at least
three public and conspicuous places in the
village, one of which shall be the bulletin
board in the village hall."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
