1ST READING – BILL 1162 – CODE AMENDMENT – AUDIT COMMITTEE
to approve first reading of Bill 1162, a proposed ordinance amending Section 2, Composition;
Terms; Vacancies of Ordinance 06-2004, which created an Audit Committee, for the purpose of
changing the composition and terms of the Audit Committee.

1ST READING – BILL 1163 – CODE AMENDMENT – EARLY VOTING
approve first reading of Bill 1163, a proposed ordinance amending Article I of Chapter 10,
Elections, of the Village Code, by adding a Section 10-13, Early Voting, to provide that the
Village is exempted from the provisions of Section 101.657, Early Voting, of the Florida Statutes.

1. Consider a motion to adopt a resolution ratifying,
PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR SALARY
approving and authorizing the payment of a yearly base salary to James W. Knight, Jr.,
Public Safety Director.

PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS AMENDMENT – NEW-HIRE RATE
motion to adopt a resolution amending Section 4.02, New-Hire, of the Personnel Rules and
Regulations to provide that the Village Manager may approve appointments of newly hired
employees above the minimum rate.

Consider a motion to adopt a resolution accepting the
EQUIPMENT FINANCING PROPOSAL
proposal of SunTrust Leasing Corp. to provide financing of various equipment purchases in an
amount up to $223,500, and authorizing and directing the Village Manager and Village Clerk to
execute the master lease agreement and other related documents.

a. Consider a motion to amend the regularly
COUNCIL MEETING DATE SCHEDULE CHANGE
scheduled Village of North Palm Beach Council meeting dates by changing the Council meeting
on Thursday, March 10, 2005 to March 9, 2005, and changing the Council meeting on Thursday,
June 9, 2005 to Wednesday, June 8, 2005.

b. Consider a motion to authorize and
TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT WITHIN GATED COMMUNITIES
direct the Village Administration and Village Attorney to develop and create an acceptable
“Jurisdiction Agreement” that may be considered and approved by various Village Homeowner
Associations requesting traffic enforcement assistance from the Village of North Palm Beach.

If a person decides to appeal any decision by the Village Council with respect to any matter considered at the
Village Council meeting, he will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose he may need to ensure
that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon
which the appeal is to based.
This agenda represents the tentative agenda for the scheduled meeting of the Village Council. Due to the nature of
governmental duties and responsibilities, the Village Council reserves the right to make additions to, or deletions
from, the items contained in this agenda.
