MINUTES OF SPECIAL EMERGENCY SESSION
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
AUGUST 28, 2006

Christine Wilcott, Deputy Village Clerk
Mayor Norris called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. All members of the Village Council were
present. All members of staff were present except the Village Attorney. Public Safety Director
Jimmy Knight was present to give a status report on preparations for Tropical Storm Ernesto.
RESOLUTION 2006-63 ADOPTED — DECLARING A STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY
Councilman Eissey moved that Resolution 2006-63 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING A STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY
be adopted. Councilman Pierman seconded the motion, and all present voted aye.
Chief Knight gave a synopsis of information from the 2:00 p.m. conference call with Palm Beach
County Emergency Operations Center and the Hurricane Center. Chief Knight reported on
Village preparations for Tropical Storm Ernesto. Village Manager Mark Bates explained the
purpose of the state of emergency resolution and reviewed storm preparations.
Mr. Bates announced that the Budget Workshop scheduled for Tuesday, August 29, 2006 was
cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as
possible.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
