• AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING ARTICLE I OF CHAPTER 10, ELECTIONS, OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE, BY ADDING A SECTION 10-13 THERETO ENTITLED
"EARLY VOTING" TO PROVIDE THAT THE VILLAGE IS EXEMPTED FROM EARLY VOTING
AS SET FORTH IN FLORIDA STATUTE 101.657; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE VILLAGE CLERKTO FURNISH
A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE TO PALM BEACH COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF
ELECTIONS; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Article I of Chapter 10, Elections, of the Code of Ordinances of the Village, is
hereby amended by adding a Section 10-13 thereto entitled "Early Voting" and to read as
follows:
"Section 10-13. Early Voting.
The Village hereby exercises its right under Florida law to exempt itself from the
provisions of Section 101.657, Early Voting, of the Florida Statutes."
Section 2. If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is for
any reason held by a Court to be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding shall not
affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to furnish a certified copy of
this ordinance to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, 240 South Military Trail, West
Palm Beach, Florida 33416.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
