Maya Eissey called the Public Hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. All members of the Council were
present. All members of staff were present.

7'tre purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear comments from the public on Bill 1075, a
proposed ordinance amending various Subsections of Section 45-33, C-1 Neighborhood
Commercial District, of Article III, District Regulations, of Appendix C, Zoning, of the Code of
Ordinances of the Village; amending Subsection A, Uses Permitted, of Section 45-33 by adding
]invited access self-storage facilities as a permitted use; amending Subsection E, Off-Street
Parking Regulations, of Section 45-33 to provide requirements for off-street parking of limited
access self-storage facilities; amending Subsection G, Conditions for Permitted Uses, of Section
45-33 to provide conditions for limited access self-storage facilities and a provision that such use
must be within a commercial planned unit development.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
7'he following persons addressed the Council with their concerns and/or opposition to the project
being presented by Kilday and Associates to build limited access self-storage facilities at 401
Northlake Blvd:
Manny Grinn, 536 Greenway Drive, quoted Kilday & Associates presentation as saying that the
proposed project is for use by people three to five miles away. Mr. Grinn asked what would be
done to ensure that the users would live or have a business within three to five miles. He also
questioned whether the Village has checked to see if there is any data regarding the number of
• police calls generated from this type of facility. He also asked how surrounding property values
would be affected.

• Lucia Traugott, 130 Yacht Club Drive, stated that the Council has no way to check out how the
proposed project is going to be operated, how they will check on the people who will be using
tl~e facility. Mrs. Traugott feels that people who were opposed to this action have been
intimidated.
