ORDINANCE N0. 67
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VII;LAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, PROHIBIT-
ING USE OF TRUCKS WEIGHING MORE 7.'HAN 3/4 TON FOR. THROUGH-TRUCK TRAFFIC ON
ANCHORAGE DRNE AMID LIGHTHOUSE DRNE IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA; PIIDVIDING PENALTY FOR V7:OLATIONS OF THE PROVISI02dS HEREIN; REPEALING
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is the conclusion of the Village Council, based upon
professional opinions of independent engineers, that the loads imposed on the
• pavements of Anchorage and Lighthouse Drives in said Village by trucks of
greater capacity than three-quarters ton threatens the life of such. pavements
and increases the normal maintenance thereon, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the 4illage of North Palm Beach,
Florida, to preserve, conserve, and maintain the pavements o£ such streets and
to minimize the maintenance costs; thereof by prohibiting as to such streets
through-truck traffic o£ trucks of three-quarters ton or more.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF TAE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or drive
any truck in excess of three-quarters ton capacity over, across, or upon
Anchorage Drive and Lighthouse Drive in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida,
except where such trucks are making deliveries to or picking up merchandise at
residences or places of business located upon such streets.
Section 2. The Chief of Police of the Pillage shall post signs upon
such streets in accordance with the provisions of Section 1 hereof.
• Sectiomm 3. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section !~. That whosoever shall violate the provisions hereof, upon
conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars
' 0500,00) or by imprisonment not to exceed ninety (90) days, or by both such
fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Village Court.
Section 5. That this Crdinar_ce sha3.]. take effect upon its passage and
approval according to law.
