PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ON THE PROPOSITION Ur' ISSUING ~ 1,!:30,000.00 RECREATSONAL BONDS OF
SAID VILF,AGE.

' WHEREAS it has been Found necessary by the Village Council of the Village of North
Palm Beach to provide for the acquisition through purchase and construction of a building,
facilities, equipment, and grounds for public recreational purposes, including golf and
swimming, for said Village; and
WHEREAS there are not now available any funds to pay for the cost of said acquisi-
• tion; and
WHEREAS authority is contained i.xz the laws of Florida and the charter of said Village
for the purpose of paying all or part of the cost of such acquisition and to make such bonds
payable from taxes to be levied on all taxable property in the village suffi dent for the
purpose, provided that prior to the adopi;ion of the ordinance authorizing such bonds, the
question of the issuance thereof shall hazve been approved by a majority of the votes cast
at an election in which a majority of thE; freeholders who are qualified electors residing
in the village shall participate, which election is to be called and held pursiant to the
' provisions of Chapter 100, Florida Statutes Annatated; and
WHEREAS the Village Council has determined that the estimated cost of the acquisition
through purchase and construction of said building, facilities, equipment and grounds for
public recras+,ional purposes, including ~*olf and swimming, and including engineerinng, legal
and other fees and charges and costs incidental thereto, will be the sum o£ $ l,l~30,000.00;
and
S+THEREAS it is, therefore, deemed advisable to provide For the holding of a special
election For the authorization of such bonds:
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the Village Council of North Palm Beach, Florida,
as follows:
Section 1. That a special election is hereby called and ordered to be held in and
for the Village of North Palm Beach, Flox•ida, on July 25, 1961, from 7:OQ A.M. until 7:00
o'clock P.M., at which there will be submitted to the freeholders who are qualified electors
residing in said Village to be by them voted upon the proposition set out in the form of
ballot appearing in Section 3 hereof, r^or municipal elections generally ir. said Village all
of said aillage constitutes a single electior. precinct and the polling place for such
election precinct is usually at the Village Ha11, in said village and accordingly for the
' special election hereby called all of said village shall constitute a single election precinct
and the polling place for same shall be the Village Hall, in said Village.
Section 2. Only those freeholders who are qualified electors in said Village and who
have duly registered according tc law, sYcall be qualified to vote at said special election.
The Village Clerk as Registration Officer shall close the registration books for voting four-
teen days prior to said electicn, and said Village Clerk as such Registration Officer is hereby

authorized aryl directed to cause to be prepared a list of names of. all qualified electors
who are determined to be freeholders in said village and who are thus qualified to vote at
said election, and to furrrlsh a certified copy of such list of qualified electors who are
freeholders to the inspectors and clerk of the election. Such list shall be deemed, taken
and held to be prima facie evidence of the total number of qualified electors who are
freeholders residing in said village and who are qualified to participate in said special
election.
' Section 3. That for said special election ballots shall be prepared for the afore-

Proposition of the issuance of the bonds
of the Village of IJorth Palm Beach in the

levied on all taxable property in the village.

Section Lt. That the Mayor and Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to give notice o£ said special election and of the proposition to be submitted thereat,
e and of the registration of qualified voters by publication thereof at least once each
week f. or at least four consecutive weeks commencing not less than ,thirty days prior to
said election i.n the Commercial Record, a newspaper of general circulation in the Village
of North Palm Beach, Florida, there being no newspaper published in said Village; the
Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to give further notice of said special
' election and o£ the proposition to be submitted, and of the notice thereof in at least
ten different places within the territorial limits of the Village. Said notice of
election so to be published and posted shall be in substantially the following form:

' Public notice is hereby given that pursuant to ordinance duly adopted by the
Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, a special election has been
called and ordered held in and for said village from 7:00 o~clock A.M. until 7:00 o~clock
P.M. on the 25th day of July, 1961, at which the following proposition will be submitted
to the Freeholders who are qualified electors residing in said villages
PROPOSITION
Proposition of the issuance of the bonds of the

said special election will be held at the same polling place whereat elections are
generally held in said village and the polling place will be at the Village Hall in
said village.
' All qualified electors of said v:Lllage whose names appear upon the registration
books in the office of the Village Clerk axsi who are found to be freeholders residing in
said village may vote at said special election. The Village Clerk as Registration Officer
will close the registration books fourteen days prior to the election for the purpose of
making lists o£ those qualified electors of said village whose names appear on said
registration books and who are found to be freeholders residing in said village.
This notice is given pursuant to ordinance adopted by said Village Council.

a report in duplicate of the results of said election on the proposition submitted with
the Mayor and Village Clerk in order that such results may be thereafter canvassed and
officially declared by the Council.
Section 6, That the Village Council shall meet at 8 otclock P.M. on

_ July 2b , 1961, that being the day after said election, at the regular meeting place
of said Council and shall canvass the returns and declare the result o£ said election.
Section 7. That this ordinance become effective immediately following its
adoption.
