The village has been named defendant in a $10
million action far damages in rescinding a dredge and
fill permit filed in U.S. District Court at Miami. Village
Attu. Herbert Gildan recommended earlier that $25,000
be set aside for the case although the exact amount of
money that %rill be needed isn't known.
Delray Firm's Tires Stolen
DELRAY BEACH — The theft of 18 tires valued at
1572.11 was reported to police yesterday by Consolidate
Tire Corp., 455 NE Sixth Ave. Detective William Coch-
rane said the lass was reported after the firm conduct-
,* ed an inventory, but was believed to have happened
within the last several days. -
Atlantis to Consider Housing
ATLANTIS -- The City Council has scheduled a
special meeting for Friday at 51.5 p.m. to discuss
applications of Atlantis Enterprises Inc- to build three
model homes in the Colony Key Villas development.
The meeting will he at City Hall.
Junior Queen Contest PIQrtized
NORTH PALM BEACH — The village will sponsor
a Junior Orange Bowl Queen contest this month, Vil-
lage Manager Lawrence Robbins announced yesterday.
The contest is open to resident girls in junior high
school. who may obtain applications at the village hall
or the North Palm Beach Country Club.
Judging will be Oct. 29. The winner will be eligible
to compete in the Miami contest.
Clean-up Drive Scheduled
NORTH PALM BEACH — A campaign to clean up
the village will Mart on Oct, 13.
Village Manager Lawrence Robbins said Girl and
Boy Scouts will pick up litter from vacant lots and
median strips on Northlake Boulevard from Oct. 18 to
25.
Robbins said the village will have special pickups of
trash on Oct. 18 and 25, and residents should have their
trash and litter in swales and ready for pickup,
Ceremony to Open Library
NORTH PALM BEACH — A ribbon cutting ceremo-
ny to open the village's new public library is scheduled
for 10:50 a.m. Saturday. The Palm Beach Gardens High
School Band will supply music for the event- which
starts at 10 a.m, -

FORT PIERCE — The St. Lucie Country Club
branch post office'Lexpected to open Oct- 15. according
to Fort Pierce Postmaster James Bridges..
Openingof the branch, to be located in a grocery
store at the St. Lucie Country Club and Villas, was
scheduled for Oct- 1 but was postponed by a delay in
arrival of equipment, Bridges said,
