HomeMy WebLinkAboutR2026-27 Quality Leave Award PolicyRESOLUTION 2026-27 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A QUALITY LEAVE AWARD POLICY TO BE INCORPORATED INTO THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS MANUAL; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Village Staff has proposed a Quality Leave Award Policy for non -bargaining unit employees as a means for awarding employees who have demonstrated a high degree of dedication and outstanding performance, above and beyond the expectations of the normal duties of their position; and WHEREAS, the policy allows Department Directors, with the approval of the Village Manager, to award an employee a maximum of four (4) hours of leave in any given pay period, with a maximum accrual of twenty (20) hours each fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the leave awards do not carry over to subsequent fiscal years and carry no cash value; and WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of the Quality Leave Policy and its incorporation into the Personnel Rules and Regulations Manual are in the best interests of the Village and its residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows: Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and incorporated herein. Section 2. The Village Council hereby adopts the Quality Leave Award Policy, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, and authorizes its incorporation into the Personnel Rules and Regulations Manual. Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution shall be repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect October 1, 2026.
