OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
PROCLAMATION
WOLFHOUND DAY
WHEREAS, the Adopt -a -Unit program created by America Supporting Americans on
March 4, 1968 provides a mechanism whereby all branches of the United States Armed Services can be
"adopted" by American communities; and
WHEREAS, on November 9, 2006, in recognition of the challenges confronting American service men
and women, the Village ofNorth Palm Beach showed its support for our military by adopting the Headquarters and
Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry (Light), 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Drew Meyerowich served as the Battalion Commander for the
2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment "WOLFHOUNDS"; and
WHEREAS, during his 15-month deployment, LTC Meyerowich commanded a Task Force of over
1000 Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Civilians that comprised TASK FORCE WOLFHOUND at Forward
Operating Base McHenry in Hawijah, Iraq; and
WHEREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach also fosters the 1st Battalion 27th Infantry Regiment
"WOLFHOUNDS", the sister unit of the 2-27; and
WHEREAS, LTC Meyerowich is originally from Tequesta, Florida and attended St. Clare School in
the Village of North Palm Beach; and
WHEREAS, LTC Meyerowich is paying a special visit to the Village of North Pahn Beach to thank our
community for their support and to share photos, experiences, and answer questions about his deployment; and
WHEREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach is desirous of honoring our military, our volunteers,
our sponsors, and our special guest Lieutenant Colonel Drew Meyerowich.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, William Manuel, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the
Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, do hereby proclaim June 11, 2008, as
WOLFHOUND DAY
in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, and I urge all citizens to support efforts to lift the spirits of the
military men and women who bravely serve our country
