Ordinance 054 Amendment to Ord. #20 - Off-Street Parkingn u ORDINANCE NO. 54 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 20, BEING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF-THE VILLAGE, BY AMENDING OFF-STREET PARKING REGULATIONS FOR R-3 ZONING DISTRICTS; BY PROVIDING FOA THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Village Council pursuant to authority vested in it under Section 14 of Ordinance No. 20, the same being the comprehensive zoning ordi- • Hance of said Village, has deemed it advisable to amend said zoning ordinance in certain respects; and WHEREAS, a public hearing relating to said proposed amendments was duly held pursuant to publication o£ the date and purpose o£ said hearing, as prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined that it will be to the best interests of the public welfare, safety and morals to amend Ordinance No. 20 in the manner discussed and proposed at said hearing, now, therefore, ' BE IT ORDAINED BY TFfE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 20, entitled "A COMPREHENSIVE ORDI- NANCE REGULATING THE USES OF LAND,- WATER, BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR TRADE, INDUSTRY, RESIDENCE OR OTHER PURPOSES: REGULATING THE LOCATION, HEIGHT, SIZE OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES, THE SIZE OF YARDS AND OTHER OPEN SPACES, THE DENSITY AND DISTRIBUTION OF POPULA- TION, AND FOA SAID PURPOSES, CREATING SIX (6) DISTRICTS; AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARIES THEREOF, AND ADOPTING A MAP OF SAID DISTRICTS: DEFINING CERTAIN • TERMS USED: ESTABLISHING A BOARD OF ADNSTMENT AND PROVIDING FOR THE ENFOACFi- MENT AND AMENDMENT THEREOF AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS" as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended in the follow- ing respects, to wit: 1. Subsection E of Section 6A, R-3 APARTMENT DWELLING DISTRICT. in said Ordinance No. 20, as amended by Ordinance No. 29, is hereby amended tc henceforth read as follows: fl E. OFF-STREET PARKING REGULATI.ONS ' 1. For each dwelling unit, there shall be provided one or more off-stt€3et parking spaces of 200 square feet each, in accordance with the following formula: One and one-half of such spaces shall be provided for each dwelling unit, with the provision that for an uneven number of units, the fractional space result produced by the application of such formula shall count as a full space. lFor examples: 5 dwelling units shall require 8 off-street parking spaces; 6 dwelling units shall require 9 off-street parking spaces),. 2. For churches, the same as for the R-2 Multiple Family Dwelling District. 3. For schools, the same as for the R-2 Multiple Family District. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of gxdinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval as provided by law.
