A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING A SUCCESSOR TO FILL A
VACANCY ON THE VILLAGE COUNCIL ON AN INTERIM BASIS; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, due to the resignation of Councilman Darryl C. Aubrey on November 16, 2023, the office
of Councilmember for Group 3 is currently vacant; and
WHEREAS, Article III, Section 5(c)(1) of the Village Charter provides that if there are less than six
(6) months remaining in the unexpired term or if there are less than six (6) months before the next
regular village election, the Village Council by a majority vote of the remaining members shall
choose a successor to serve until the newly elected council member is qualified; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council wishes to fill the vacant seat on the Village Council on an interim
basis until such time as a new Councilmember is elected for Group 3 in accordance with the
requirements of the Village Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby appoints the following person to serve as a member of
the Village Council on an interim basis until the newly elected Council member for Group 3 is
qualified by election:
Karen Marcus
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
