ROLL CALL
Mayor Norris called the meeting to order at 6:44 p.m. All members of Council were present.

PURPOSE OF THE SPECIAL SESSION
The purpose of the Special Session was to review, discuss, and ratify the Collective Bargaining
Agreement between the Village of North Palm Beach and the Federation of Public Employees.
RESOLUTION 2009-55 ADOPTED - FEDERATION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES
COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
Councilman Eissey moved to adopt Resolution 2009-55 entitled
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA AND THE
FEDERATION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 2009
THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2010, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
AND VILLAGE CLERK TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
with the addition of a condition in Article 34 agreeing to move toward a Defined Contribution
Plan for all new hires. Councilman Hernacki seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Mr. Cherof will amend Article 34 of the agreement to conform to the condition stipulated by the
Council and forward it to the attorney representing the Federation of Public Employees (FPE)
indicating that Council's approval of the agreement is conditional and requesting that it be
resubmitted to the FPE membership for ratification of that change.

With no further business to comp before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 6:47 p.m.
