Consider a motion to uphold or overturn the decision of the Planning Commission to deny the request of True Treasures Antiques and Fine Consignments to paint 12 inch stripes on the east side of the building at 617 Northlake Boulevard. ACTION 1ST READING OF ORDINANCE 2009-11 – ALTERNATE METHOD OF CODE ENFORCEMENT 2. Consider a motion to adopt on first reading Ordinance 2009-11, amending Chapter 2, Administration, of the Code of Ordinances to provide a streamlined process for the issuance and disposition of citations as an alternate method of code enforcement. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT 09-01 Consider a motion to adopt on first reading Ordinance 2009-12, adopting Amendment 09-01 to the Comprehensive Plan to implement amendments relating to the Evaluation and Appraisal Report and Ten-Year Water Supply Facilities Work Plan, update the Capital Improvements Element, adopt amendments related to the U.S. Highway One Corridor Study, and adopt a new Annexation Element. ACTION D. CONSENT AGENDA The Consent Agenda is for the purpose of expediting issues of a routine or pro-forma nature. Councilmen may remove any item from the Consent Agenda, which would automatically convey that item to the Regular Agenda for separate discussion and vote. 1. Receive Minutes of General Employees Pension Board meeting held 5/6/09 Recommendation: “The Board recognizes for the long term viability of the plan, that the lump sum option needs to be eliminated and further recommends that a period of transition be included for the benefit of the vested active and vested terminated employees.” Recommendation: “for support in exploring the feasibility of joining the State Plan (FRS) for future employees, provided that the DB plan is closed.” 2. Consider a motion to adopt a proposed resolution adopting the data, analysis, and studies supporting Comprehensive Plan Amendment 09-01. ACTION Regular Session Agenda, August 27, 2009 Page 3 of 3 RESOLUTION – GRAND JURY’S REPORT ON THE INVESTIGATION OF PBC GOVERNANCE 2. AND PUBLIC CORRUPTION ISSUES (TABLED ON 7/23/09) Consider a motion to adopt a proposed resolution acknowledging the findings and recommendations of the Palm Beach County Grand Jury’s Report on the Investigation of Palm Beach County Governance and Public Corruption Issues. ACTION RESOLUTION – ANNUAL STREET OVERLAY PAVING CONTRACT 3. Consider a motion to adopt a proposed resolution approving a contract with Charles S. Whiteside, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $299,720 for the overlay paving of designated Village streets. ACTION RESOLUTION – REQUEST FOR FUNDING AND LEGISLATION TO ADDRESS BEACH 4. EROSION Consider a motion to adopt a proposed resolution requesting assistance from Governor Crist and the Florida Legislature to address the beach erosion crisis with adequate funding and stronger legislation. ADJOURNMENT If a person decides to appeal any decision by the Village Council with respect to any matter considered at the Village Council meeting, he will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. This agenda represents the tentative agenda for the scheduled meeting of the Village Council. Due to the nature of governmental duties and responsibilities, the Village Council reserves the right to make additions to, or deletions from, the items contained in this agenda.
