Home My WebLink About1994-58 Erosion Control Project_NPBCC Golf CourseRESOLUTION NO. 58-94 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING COMPLETION OF THE DESIGN OF AN EROSION CONTROL PROJECT ALONG THE INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY ADJACENT TO THE VILLAGE'S COUNTRY CLUB GOLF COURSE IN ACCORDANCE WITH DESIGN ALTERNATIVE B ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE STAFF AND VILLAGE ENGINEER TO SECURE ALL NECESSARY PERMITS FOR THE PROJECT AND TO APPLY FOR FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT (FIND) FOR MATCHING GRANT FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION COSTS, ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT COST FOR THE PROJECT WITH CONSTRUCTION TO BE FUNDED BY A FIFTY PERCENT (50%) GRANT OVER TWO (2) CONSECUTIVE YEARS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, has applied for and received matching grant approval from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) for engineering services in connection with the design of an erosion control project along the Intracoastal Waterway adjacent to the Village's country club golf course; and WHEREAS, the preliminary engineering report has been completed and recommends certain improvements to control erosion along the waterway; and, WHEREAS, the next phase of the project includes detailed engineering design and permitting of the project, for which matching grant approval has been approved; and, WHEREAS, the grant conditions imposed by FIND require 1 that funds made available under the program will not be paid to the Village unless the project is constructed; and, WHEREAS, the Village should determine their intent to complete the project as recommended by the preliminary engineering report so that all matching funds will be paid upon completion. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, does hereby authorize completion of the design of an erosion control project along the Intracoastal waterway adjacent to the Village's country club golf course in accordance with Design Alternative B attached hereto as Exhibit "A. Section 2. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, does hereby authorize the staff and Village engineer to secure all necessary permits for the project. Section 3. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, hereby authorizes application to FIND for matching grant funds for the construction costs, administrative costs and project management cost for the project with construction to be funded by a fifty percent (50%) grant from FIND over two (2) consecutive years. Section 4. Upon the Village receiving all necessary permits for the project and matching grant approval from FIND with funding to be by a fifty percent (50%) grant over two (2) consecutive years of construction, the Village shall proceed with bidding and construction of the project. Section 5. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach understands and reserves the right to withdraw from the project and the matching grant program from FIND, or both, up to the award of a construction contract. Section 6. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. The bid of Pifer, Inc., Jupiter, Florida, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution, is hereby accepted by the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, in accordance with its terms. The appropriate Village officials are hereby directed to advise said bidder of this acceptance. The monies are to be expended from L8045-66490 (Machinery & Equipment) in the amount of $26,800.00. Section 2. The bid of Nucrane Machinery, Inc., Riviera Beach, Florida, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution, is hereby accepted by the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, in accordance with its terms. The appropriate Village officials are hereby directed to advise said bidder of this acceptance. The monies are to be expended from L8045-66490 (Machinery & Equipment) in the amount of $14,795.00.
