RESOLUTION NO. 18-94
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE CITY MARINA
IN RIVIERA BEACH AS THE SITE FOR A
REGIONAL CONVENTION CENTER;
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
VILLAGE CLERK TO PROVIDE A CERTIFIED
COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM
BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA; AND, PROVID-
ING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency
proposes that a regional convention center facility be constructed
upon the waterfront marina site in Riviera Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the location of a Regional Convention Center on
the designated waterfrontsite in Riviera Beach would make Palm
Beach County an attractive designation for convention groups and
other users of such a center and would provide positive economic
benefits to Northern Palm Beach County including the Village of
North Palm Beach.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North
Palm Beach does hereby support the selection of the City Marina in
Riviera Beach as the site for a Regional Convention Center and
urges the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County,
Florida, to build a Regional Convention Center on the Marina site
in Riviera Beach offered by the Riviera Beach Community
Redevelopment Agency.
Section Z. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to furnish a certified copy of this Resolution to the
Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, and to
the Community Redevelopment Agency of Riviera Beach, Florida.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
