RESOLUTION NO. 9-92
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE PERSONNEL
REGULATIONS FOR THE VILLAGE ADOPTED BY
RESOLUTION NO. 17-82 BY CHANGING THE
REQUIREMENTS FOR SICK LEAVE AND VACATION
FOR VILLAGE EMPLOYEES; PROVIDING FOR THE
REPEAL OF ALL PARTS OF THE PERSONNEL
REGULATIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: AND,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Secti.n.j. Subsection "C" of Section 10.04 entitled
"Sick Leave" of the Personnel Regulations for the Village is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"c) Employees taking sick leave shall be
compensated at their straight time
hourly rate of pay for the time off
work.
Sick leave shall continue to accrue during
-periods of authorized absence'on which
the employee is in pay status. An
employee rflay accrue an unlimited number
of sick days for use in the event he or
she is sick. For termination purposes.
including retirement or death, the
employee will receive an amount equal to
fifty (50%) percent of the unused sick
leave with a maximum of sixty (60) days.
Maximum payment for sick leave will not
exceed 30 days' wages."
Section 2. Subsection "i" of Section 10.04 entitled
"Sick Leave" of the Personnel Regulations for the Village is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"an employee who is terminated for cause
will not receive accumulated sick leave
compensation. Payment for deceased

employees shall be remitted to the estate
of the deceased."
Section 3. Subsection "(e)" of Section 10.01 b)3
relating to Vacations is repealed and a subsection "(d)" thereto is
added to read as follows:
"(d) Earned annual leave must be used
during the fiscal year in which it is
eligible to be taken. It may be carried
to the following fiscal year subject to
the approval of the Village Manager and
must be used during that fiscal year or
it is lost."
Section 4. Subsection "(f)" of Section 10.01 b)3 is
hereby repealed.
Section 5. Subsection "(g)" of Section 10.01 b)3 is
hereby renumbered to "(e)".
Section 6. All parts of the Personnel Regulations in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 7. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
