Village Manager
asked to resign by
NPB Councilman
By Denise Jaegers
North Palm Beach Village
Manager Dennis Kelly received
"average" marks on his yearly
evaluation Monday night, in the
wake of last Thursday's volatile
council meeting, where he occupied
the "hot seat" for a large portion of
the evening.
During Monday's workshop,
Councilman Charles O'Meilia advised
Kelly to submit his resignation,
remarking, "average wasn't good
enough" for him. Although none of the
remaining council members stated it so
bluntly, Councilman David Norris
conceded he thought it was time for "a
change."
Kelly has been the village manager
in North Palm Beach for the past 13
years, and currently earns $99,000
annual salary. The council agreed to
take an official vote on Kelly's job
status by the next council meeting,
scheduled for Thursday, September 12,
although no date was set.
