Gorton Honored For P&W Research
W. L. Gorton, left, general manager of Pratt & Whitney
Aircraft's Florida Research and Development Center,
accepts the United Aircraft Corporation board of
directors' trophy for outstanding engineering achieve-
ment, from H. M. Horner, United Aircraft chairman,
at the annual stockholders meeting in East Hartford,
Conn. The trophy recognized the Research Center's
design and development of the RL10 liquid hydrogen
engine and its pioneering and continuing work in the
use of liquid hydrogen as a space propulsion fuel.
