Members of the public may address the Council concerning items on the Consent Agenda or any
non-agenda item. Members of the public who wish to be heard concerning any item listed on the Regular
Session or Workshop Session Agenda may do so when the issue comes up for discussion. Those wishing
to speak should complete a Statement from the Public Card (located at back of Council Chambers) and

PUBLIC HEARING AND 2ND READING OF ORDINANCE 2009-07 – BUSINESS TAX RATE
1.
AMENDMENT
Consider a motion to adopt and enact on second reading Ordinance 2009-07,
amending Chapter 17, Licenses and Miscellaneous Business Regulations, Article II, Local
Business Tax, Section 17-33, Business Tax Schedule, to reduce the rate of business taxes for
Security and Commodity Brokers and to cap the rate of business taxes for retail trade establishments.

PUBLIC HEARING AND 2ND READING OF ORDINANCE 2009-08 – COMPREHENSIVE PAY
2.
PLAN AMENDMENT
Consider a motion to adopt and enact on second reading Ordinance
2009-08, amending the Comprehensive Pay and Classification Plan for FY 2008-2009 to
reclassify the existing Police Lieutenant positions to Police Captain positions in the Public
Safety Department.

PUBLIC HEARING AND 2ND READING OF ORDINANCE 2009-09 – NUISANCE ABATEMENT

AMENDMENT
Consider a motion to adopt and enact on second reading Ordinance 2009-09,
amending Chapter 14, Health and Sanitation, Article IV, Abatement of Public Nuisances on
Private Property, Section 14-79, Definitions, to prohibit storage of vehicles, boats and boat trailers
without current and valid tags or registrations on private property unless stored completely
within an enclosed structure and not visible from adjoining properties or public rights-of-way.

PUBLIC HEARING AND 2ND READING OF ORDINANCE 2009-10 – MODIFYING CONDITIONS

OF LIVE OAK PLAZA ANNEXATION
Consider a motion to adopt and enact on second
reading Ordinance 2009-10, extending the deadlines relating to signage and landscaping
improvements for the Live Oak Plaza property.

The Consent Agenda is for the purpose of expediting issues of a routine or
pro-forma nature. Councilmen may remove any item from the Consent Agenda, which would automatically
convey that item to the Regular Agenda for separate discussion and vote.

RESOLUTION – TENTATIVE MILLAGE RATE
1. Consider a motion to adopt a proposed
resolution adopting a tentative millage rate of 7.4114 mils for fiscal year 2009-2010 and
establishing September 10, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. as the date and time of the first hearing on the
tentative budget and proposed millage rate.

RESOLUTION – SUPPORTING GRAND JURY’S REPORT ON THE INVESTIGATION OF PBC

GOVERNANCE AND PUBLIC CORRUPTION ISSUES
Consider a motion to adopt a proposed
resolution supporting the findings and recommendations of the Palm Beach County Grand Jury’s
Report on the Investigation of Palm Beach County Governance and Public Corruption Issues.
ACTION
MOTION – TENNIS FACILITY CHANGE ORDER
3. Consider a motion to approve a change order
in the amount of $18,012 for sidewalk demolition and replacement at the Tennis Facility in
accordance with Village policies and purchasing regulations.

and responsibilities, the Village Council reserves the right to make additions to, or deletions from, the items contained in this agenda.
